Pallet Sign

We don’t have a lot of extra cash right now with me not working, but I wanted Brian to get something for Father’s Day that would let him know how special he is to us! I saw this quote on Pinterest and decided it was perfect…

B is already starting to look up to his daddy! MK is 100% daddy’s girl! So, this quote was a no brainier.

I didn’t take step-by-step pictures as we made it, but it was super easy and cheap! All we had to buy was the craft paint (~$2). We had some planks of pallet wood in the basement leftover from the pallet gate we made (I will be sharing that soon) and I had an old gold frame that we could paint. We nailed the planks together, sanded them, and did a rough paint job with brown craft paint. I used the Cricut to make a stencil with vinyl for the white letters. I free-handed the “Daddy” and the yellow words. I painted the frame yellow and we just attached the frame to the sign with a nail.

We had a fun afternoon dressing up as daddy to do a little photo shoot. I ordered the picture from Mpix. The pictures we have ordered from them have been amazing quality and they are so fast and affordable.

I think Brian LOVED his gift…even if he did have to help make it! He was happy to help to keep me from hurting myself with the saw, sander, or drill!

I can’t wait to make more of these! You should try it too! What quote would you use and where would you hang it in your house?
